Each classroom at Wild Bank has a Nurture Nook. This is an area within their classroom that has been developed for the purpose of allowing children a space to self-regulate and develop their social and emotional skills. This space is away from the main learning environment. The children can access a range of resources such as:
- Sensory tools
- Breathing techniques
- Grounding techniques
- Calming activities
- Thinking techniques
to help them to develop their calming strategies and emotional awareness. If they are unable to self-regulate within the turn of the sand timer then they can co-regulate with a trusted member of staff and get ready to re-engage with their learning.
