The Year 1/2 class is taught by Mrs Holstein.
Year 1 is an exciting year for children full of fun and learning. The children begin to develop skills that will support them throughout their life such as: being independent; how to be a good citizen and friend; as well as a jam-packed curriculum! The phonics screening test is a big focus this year. The children will prepare for this throughout the year.
Year 2 is a time when children continue to develop the skills learnt in year 1 and apply these in a range of ways. They will continue to explore a range of places and events around the world, explore challenging concepts in Maths and develop their reading and writing skills in preparation for moving on to Key Stage 2.
