Local authorities must publish a Local Offer, setting out in one place information about provision they expect to be available across education, health and social care for children and young people in their area who have SEN or are disables, including those who do not have Education, Health and Care plans (EHCP).The Local Offer has two key purposes:
- To provide clear comprehension, accessible and up-to-date information about the available provision and how to access it, and
- To make provision more responsive to local needs and aspirations by directly involving disable children and those with SEN and their parents, and disabled and young people and those with SEN, and service providers in its development and review
At Wild Bank Primary School we aim to provide a curriculum that is appropriate to the needs and abilities of all our children.
We plan our teaching and learning in such a way that we enable each child to reach for the highest level of personal achievement. We believe that all teachers are teachers of special educational needs.
All schools are expected to have well planned SEND provision and publish their School SEND Information Report so that parents and carers can see exactly what the school offers. This supports parents to ensure that they make the right choice for their child. You can find a copy of our SEND Information Report below.
The SEND team is led by Ms Emma Hill who works closely with other SEN leaders at academies within the Trust and also with Tameside LA. At Wild Bank Ms Hill is the day-to-day contact for parents and is also supported by highly experienced teaching assistants.
This resource aims to provide a tool to support excellent practice across Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) provision in educational settings and promote positive outcomes for children and young people identified as having additional needs.
Should parents or carers have any concerns about their child in relation to SEND, they should contact their class teacher first and then Ms Hill by making an appointment at the office.
